Veneers In San Antonio, Texas

Porcelain Veneers

We love seeing patients discover a beautiful new smile; it’s a highlight of our days. Veneers can dramatically change your appearance, and they’re sometimes called “instant orthodontics.” A set of veneers can eliminate chips, stains, and discolored teeth. Well-designed veneers can also improve the length and size of teeth or help rotated teeth appear straight. Although the change in appearance is dramatic, veneers provide a conservative approach to esthetic smile makeovers.

Veneers offer the best in dental art and science, and they’re handcrafted to fit your smile.  These paper-thin pieces of porcelain bond to the outside of your natural teeth like a contact lens. Although they’re ultra-thin, many unique characteristics can be built into the ceramics to replicate any look you want.

Veneers offer a conservative way to repair bad teeth, but the steps behind the process require extensive training for the best outcome. So, what does it take to bring a smile like this to life?

Good Planning Makes All The Difference

A successful result starts with careful planning and design of your veneers. We use models, photographs, and digital x-rays to design a perfect blueprint for your case. We consider your goals and blend your desires into your veneer case; color, shape, length, and more.

The Next Step

After we’ve planned your case, we usually schedule two appointments to deliver your stunning new smile. We gently shape the teeth at the first visit to allow space for ultra-thin porcelain. A master lab technician takes the models and information we send to create your custom smile, like a piece of art.

In most cases, we make temporary acrylic restorations that mimic the veneers that you’ll wear for 2-3 weeks. These temporaries offer a preview of your new smile, and we can evaluate the design for any final adjustments.

Delivering The Beauty

You’ll return for a second appointment after the lab technician has spent hours crafting your veneers. We’ll try in each veneer and evaluate the appearance and fit and let you preview the new look. We then move through several precise steps to bond the thin veneers to the outer surface of your teeth. Modern bonding techniques create a seamless, vital link between tooth and porcelain. After a few minor adjustments to your bite and a final polish, you’ll be ready to enjoy your new smile.
